Three persons have met their untimely death on Monday when gunmen suspected to be members of a dreaded cult group attacked a barbershop in Ipo community of Ikwerre local government area of Rivers state
According to Daily Post, the assailants who shot sporadically into the shop on Monday night left Ogechi Amesi, his brother, Chinumezi Amesi, from Ibaa community in Emohua LGA and one other person yet to be identified person dead.
Iheanyi Njoku, a relative to one of the victims told newsmen that the suspected cultists stormed the barbing salon owned by the two brothers and opened fire killing three and leaving one other with bullet wounds.
Njoku also disclosed that security operatives, who responded to the distress call by the indigenes of the community in connection to the killings, had arrested some suspects in connection to the incident.
Though the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Mr. Nnamdi OMONI has said he is yet to be briefed on the incident, a senior police officer attached to the Special Anti-Robbery SQUAD has confirmed the attack. The SARS operative said the remains of the victims have been deposited in the morgue and normalcy has been restored to the community.
Meanwhile, the member representing Ikwerre State Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Azubuike Wanjoku, has condemned the killings at Ipoo.
