- Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya has said that the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state remains undivided under the leadership of the Minister for Transportation, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
He said the different shades of opinion within the party within the party is indicative of the vibrancy of the party.
He said though conflicts and disagreements are natural to every gathering of people, it is required that party members exploit the conflict resolution mechanism within the part the party in addressing all grievances. Adding that anyone who conducts party matters outside of the APC guidelines and regulations would be sanctioned.
He stated this yesterday in Khana local government area while speaking to party members continuation of the ongoing sensitization and interactive session with ward and LGA executives of the APC .
Chief Ikanya who arrived Tai in company of other members of the state exco was relieved by a waiting crowd led by the LGA chairman of the party, Mr Berenor Nkpobu.
Welcoming the August visitors, Mr Nkpobu said the state chairman and his entourage were not only visiting but had come home to “the home of APC in Rivers state”. He said APC remains the party to beat in Tai, having won all seats in the last parliamentary elections .
Speaking, Chief Ikanya said he had come to Tai to meet with executives of the party at the LGA, ward and unit levels to sensitize them with the policies and programs of the party and to also hear from them.
He warned against hoarding of registration materials as the party begins national membership registration and revalidation exercise.
Chief Ikanya charged p arty excos to remain neutral on matters related to elections and party candidacy.
“stay neutral, let everyone indicating interest belong to you”, he said.
