PDP chieftain hails gun attack on APC rally, says the rally was a provocation

Prince Emma Ayanwu, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has said the disruption of a political rally organised by the APC to recieve defecting members of the PDP in Etche by unknown gun men is an indication that the All Progressive Congress is not welcome in Etche. Prince Emma Anyanwu who  wondered why the the chairman of Ecthe local government area, Mr Reginald Okoma would organise a rally for an “unknown party”  described the rally as an affront and a disrespect to the Okehi people who are the host community to the local government council. Mr Anyanwu speaking to news men in Port Harcourt shortly after the violent disruption of the APC function, gave a stern warning to the chairman chairman of Etche local government area, asking him to desist from carrying out any further act of “unwarranted provocation” in the LGA.

In a swift reaction, Mr Reginald said the APC had successful carried its political rally before some young men who are alleged supporters of the PDP came in to the council gate carrying a Coffin and shooting sporadically attempted to disrupt the rally by creating panic.

The Etche council boasted that with the huge crowd that willingly came out to openly demonstrate that they have switched loyalty from the PDP to the APC, coupled with the fact that the major political big weights in the area have moved to the APC, APC will definitely win future elections in the LGA.images(17)
