The newly elected chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Hon Ojukaye Flag-Amachree has called on members of the party to unite and stop all forms of infighting.
Speaking during the inauguration of elected state executives and local government party chairmen at the state party secretariat on Forces Avenue in Port Harcourt, Flag-Amachree said “the party belongs to all of us, let us give peace a chance”.
He said the focus of the party is to unseat “Governor 17 Billion”. According Hon Ojukaye, Governor Wike is the only in Nigeria governor that used 17 billion Naira to build two roundabouts.
Flag-Amachree congratulated the newly elected excos of the APC at all levels and charged them to hit the ground running. He said after he was sworn in on Monday, June 4 by the national chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun, he was mandated to immediately swear in the state excos. Ojukaye instructed the local government party chairmen to immediately swear in the elected members of their executives.
Chris Finebone who was returned as Publicity Secretary of the party thanked the state chairman for standing up for every member of the State Working Committee within this short period in office.
He reminded the chairman that the task of reclaiming the Rivers State Government House won’t be an easy one.
“the journey ahead will be tough, the road may be filled with thorns but we trust in your leadership”, he said.
Finebone said the election of Ojukaye Flag- Amachree is a statement that 2019 won’t be business as usual.
Hon Kenneth Nwibari, the elected chairman of the Khana LGA chapter of the APC who spoke on behalf of the other LGA chairmen said Ojukaye has given life to the Rivers APC. He assured the new state chairman that the broad daylight election robbery of 2015 won’t repeat itself.
