Gov Wike warns against relocation of Shell out of Rivers State

The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief  Nyesom Wike has said that the Niger Delta region will be negatively affected if Shell Petroleum and Development Company SPDC makes do its plan to relocate from rivers state.

Speaking  to members of the House of Representatives Ahdoc Committee mandated to investigate the planned relocation of Shell Petroleum Development Company SPDC  at Government House Port Harcourt, Governor Wike wondered why SPDC is determined to move its headquarters away from rivers state despite the current peace enjoyed in the state.

Rhythm News Port Harcourt reported that Governor Nyesom Wike also used the opportunity to restate his earlier position that the state did not receive thirty-five billion naira from the Federal Government as it share of the Paris Club debt repayments

Earlier, the Chairman of the Adhoc committee Mandated to Investigate the Planned Relocation of Shell Office ISHIAKA IBRAHIM said the committee will interact with all relevant stakeholders to address the matter.
