Five Persons Killed In Renewed Cross River Cult Clash

Reports say not fewer than five individuals have been murdered in a renewed cult war in Calabar, the capital city of Cross River State.


According to a story posted by Famzn News the incident occurred in Calabar South native authorities space and Calabar Municipal native authorities space of the State.

A Twitter user, @pdbraide decrying the way the killings have been ignored in the mainstream media posted: “It’s a bloodbath in Calabar. The cult wars continue. 4 dead bodies in Marian/Etiba axis alone in 24hrs. many others all over town. It’s been brutal here for months. Not even news.


The deaths have been linked to rivalries between two cult groups, the Vikings and the Axe. Sources say the killings occurred between Sunday and the early a part of Monday.

An eyewitness account has it that three suspected cultists had been killed in Ekondo Street and Main Avenue Street in Calabar South while two different dead bodies suspected to be victims of the cult violence have been seen along Atekong Drive and Marian Road in Calabar Municipal.
