The Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration, EDFA, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Chris Oyirinda Amadi, Saturday, paid series of courtesy visits to some Traditional Rulers across Rivers State.
The visits were initiated to provide the needed platform to interact with the Traditional Rulers, recognize them, given them a sense of belonging and find out the specific needs of their people to enable the Commission provide necessary supports and embark on Projects that solve the needs of the people in their various communities.
According to Mr. Oyirinda, NDDC is an interventionist establishment with the core mandate to facilitate development across every nook and cranny of the Niger Delta region.
“We are not only committed to infrastructural development of the region but also to Agricultural, Educational and Human Capital developments. Our focus is to see to the total well-being of our people and try as much as possible to assuage hunger and lack amongst them”, he said.
The Acting EDFA expressed his gratitude to President Buhari for finding him worthy to serve the Commission as Executive Director. He also thanked the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for nominating him for the appointment.
“I am very grateful to both Mr. President and the Honourable Minister of Transportation for their kind gesture to our people and the only way we can reciprocate is by coming out in our numbers to vote massively for Mr. President. I urge you to mobilize your people on Saturday, February 16, 2019, to give President Buhari your votes.”
Mr. Oyirinda told the Traditional Rulers that the Commission has began delivery of 200 chairs to schools across the 23 LGAs in Rivers State and will soon commence other empowerment Programs that will benefit the masses.
The Traditional Rulers visited were; HRM Eze Amb. VCB Okor, Mgbo XII, Nyenwe-Eli Emohua-nu-Eriri and his Council of Chiefs and HRH Eze Ejike Wali, Eze Ohna Okporo/Paramount Ruler of Mgbuesilaru Community alongside HRM Eze Eziwho Gift Johnson, Eze Ohna Apara; HRM Eze Monday Ojiegbe, Paramount Ruler of Omuma and others.
