The assassination attempt on the Nigerian Minister of Transportation by aides of Governor Nyesom Wike has drawn wide condemnations from all spheres of the polity and beyond. The latest is coming from a Notary Public and Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Ahoada East LGA.
In a statement made available by his media crew, the APC chieftain took a swipe on the governor saying the governor has a “penchant for violence”.
Recalling that not too long ago, the governor had appeared severally on events wielding machetes, declaring that he now has a mandate to kill anyone who opposes his party in the state; even when his footsoldiers has already begun all forms of violent crimes in several parts of the state while the governor looked the other way.
He then called on well meaning Rivers people to call the governor to order for the sake of the State, “saying this state belong to all of us and we cannot allow one man (Gov Wike) to send the once peaceful state into extinction because of his lust for blood.
He then called on the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Kpotum Idris to investigate his men and officers in Gov Wike’s Convoy especially as it concerns the beating up of an FSARS operative attached to the minister and taking away of his rifle.
Thanking God for preserving the life of the former governor and Leader of APC in South South Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in the face of such gruesome scenario, Barr Eric Apia called on him not to be deterred by the devilish acts of Gov Wike, but remain resolute and focused in his giant developmental strides he is achieving for the country and also in leading the APC in Rivers State and South South to enviable heights.
Finally, APC chieftain called on the state commandant of of the FSARS CSP Akin Fakorede to be unfazed by these intrigues of the governor to blackmail him and his men; expressing gratitude to the police unit for their outstanding victories against criminal elements in the state which has made residents of many parts of the state to sleep with their two eyes closed.
